Casual Workshop Facilitator is an entry-level position with potential for growth within the organization. Workshops are held at Art City, and at several off-site locations (most shifts are in the evenings, with support from other staff, and typically range between 3-5 hours each).

Brief Job Description:

  • Facilitate art programming in a wide array of mediums and scales
  • Engage participants of all ages & abilities (majority children & youth)
  • Support Guest Artists with workshops
  • Manage behaviour and resolve conflict as necessary
  • Organize and maintain supplies
  • Attend staff meetings when available


  • Practicing artist
  • Proficient in various art mediums
  • Positive role model for children and youth
  • Experienced working with children and/or youth
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to approach conflict in creative ways
  • Ability to work well in a team
  • Ability to contribute to the development of art programming
  • Valid driver's license

Starting Wage: $18.84/hour

Hours: Casual Employees start on an on-call basis, filling in for regularly scheduled staff, and facilitating Art City's many outreach workshops. A flexible schedule increases opportunities for shifts. This is position intended for someone looking for supplementary income.
