Wasagaming Community Arts: The first exhibition of our 2019 season, featuring artwork by Garett Beatty, Brooke Piché, and members of the Textile and Fibre Artist of Manitoba, May 24 - June 12
Wasagaming Community Arts formally invites you to the first exhibition of our 2019 season, featuring artwork by Garett Beatty, Brooke Piché, and members of the Textile and Fibre Artist of Manitoba. The official exhibition opening will take place on Friday, May 24th, 2019, from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Opening remarks will take place at 7:45pm.
Garret Beatty's paintings are a series of obscurely pre-apocalyptic tableaux in oils. Sometimes cheeky, sometimes serious, even Garett doesn't know if he's plumbing depths or splashing in puddles, and he has no intention of trying to figure it out.
Through drawings that juxtapose the mundane narratives and familiar scenarios of the surreal, anthropomorphic characters, Brooke Piché examines the mundane, recurrent, and unique situations encountered through endless summers spent at Riding Mountain National Park.
