The Digital Photography program runs once per week from 3:00-8:00 p.m. and is open to all ages and abilities on a drop-in basis. The Instructor is someone specialized in lens-based practices and passionate about making art experiences accessible to everyone. This position comes with eligibility to take additional shifts in other areas of Art City's operations. The Instructor will:

  • Lead basic, intermediate and advanced lens-based new media workshops, on a drop-in basis, one evening per week
  • Develop and implement innovative program activities
  • Design programming, in consultation with coworkers and program participants, that is relevant, skill-building, process based and provides opportunities for real creative self-expression
  • Manage and maintain digital equipment and computers in partnership with Digital Art Instructor
  • Organize digital files, including documentation of regular programming and digital archive
  • Attend bi-weekly staff meetings
  • Assist with regular Art City programming, outreach programs, and special events as needed and desired
  • Shoot special event photography at a flat rate of $200 per event, including editing and providing high quality digital documentation
  • Build meaningful relationships with participants of all ages, maintaining professionalism and acting as a positive role model for youth
  • Resolve conflict as needed

Starting wage: $19.57/hour
