La Maison des artistes visuels francophones: TempoReal, September 26- November 30
TempoReal : Pascal Dufaux - Sarah Wendt / Caroline Hayeur - D. Kimm / Myriam Jacob-Allard / Fanny Mesnard
September 26 - November 30, 2019
Movement is happening around us every day whether on a solitary commute to work or through mass migration and displacement. Humanity is on the move with constant technology and changing social frameworks. Regardless of geography or social background, danse remains a common thread that binds human beings.
TempoReal is a group exhibition that explores and reflects on the multisensory experience-- both subjective and collective--of movement. In its plural dimension, this exhibition seeks to highlight the different ways in which the body and the mind of the spectator may be moved, captivated or even exalted by the celebratory action of dance. In this exhibition, photography, video, performance, music, drawing, print and sculpture based works are all the modes of expression used to account for the multiple forms of physical movement. The translation between dance (which takes root within the body of the dancer) and the visual arts (its representation) takes the project towards a reflection that goes beyond gesture and resonates beyond the foundations of motion.
TempoReal is presented at La Maison des artistes visuels francophones in Saint Boniface from September 26 to November 30, 2019 and features works by Caroline Hayeur & D. Kimm, Myriam Jacob-Allard, Fanny Mesnard, and Sarah Wendt & Pascal Dufaux. Performances, live music, collaborative & dance events will be held to coincide with Culture Days Manitoba including Nuit Blanche Winnipeg.
From tango to country music, let yourself be drawn by the synergy of movement!
