Transform Your Digital Footprint

This series of workshops is geared to assess and improve web presence specifically for performing and visual artists and organizations. Registration is separate for each online workshop. Finally, we will use Zoom Meetings instead of Zoom Webinar to ensure a high degree of interactivity and a better learning experience.

To keep the arts front and centre in all of our work, we're inviting performing artists as opening act for most if not all sessions. We will update that information as artists are confirmed!

How to make Google your friend!

Wednesday, November 18, 2020 / 2 pm to 3:30 pm Central / Opening Act TBA

This session is a practical exploration of essential Google services like Search, MyBusiness, Maps, Google Events, Answer Boxes, and Google Home (voice).

This workshop focuses on how web users today are most likely to see your website information (hint: increasingly, it will not be on your website). In this workshop we equip participants with the information and tools necessary to know how Google generates answers from your web content – rather than merely search results – and what you need to do to ensure your content is, indeed, discoverable on Google.

After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting.

From search to discoverability

Wednesday, November 25, 2020 / 2 pm to 3:30 pm Central / Opening Act TBA

This workshops takes discoverability to another level: Learn how to position your organization and local artists on the web using essential directories: from specialized directories to general ones like Wikimedia Commons and Wikipedia. This workshop will explain the connection of these directories to how search engines provide answers to user.

Staying connected

In this session we will talk about how and why to stay connected to your audiences throughout the COVID-19 pandemic – participants will be invited to share their experiences in terms of what has been working and what has been challenging. Specific ideas will be presented to aid in the re-establishment of live arts and events in communities across Manitoba.
