Creative City Network of Canada: Prairies Regional Cultural Workers Dialogue Session
Join host Emma Morris (Regina, SK) for the Prairies Regional Dialogue Session on Tuesday, March 2 at 10AM (Central). Culture workers in Saskatchewan, Manitoba, and the Northwest Territories are invited and encouraged to attend!
Topics relevant and important to this region will be on the table for discussion. From culture work and creative economies in small or rural communities, to re-embracing winter culture outdoors during COVID, to highlighting the potential of ethno-culturally diverse neighbours where Indigenous, settler, and immigrant and refugee families contribute to local culture plans. This session is designed to connect neighbours in the prairies and help them prepare for the year ahead.
Special Guest Nancy Duxbury will join for a special Q&A about her research in municipal culture work. Her recent article in the International Journal of Cultural Policy (Cultural and creative work in rural and remote areas: an emerging international conversation), CREATOUR project, and recent interview on the CCNC mini podcast series offer a wealth of information to revitalize your focus going into another challenging year in the sector. Reach out ahead of your session with questions we can submit to Ms. Duxbury, or come prepared to ask them on the day.
