Manitoba Theatre Centre: Education Enrichment Manager, Application Deadline September 24

Education Enrichment Manager

We are seeking a dynamic individual to join our Marketing department, to lead education programs that engage students and teachers (with a focus on high-school ages), and foster enrichment opportunities that connect the audience and wider community to the work at Royal MTC.

We believe that great theatre goes beyond the stage – it serves and reflects the community, and encourages people to become more knowledgeable about theatrical arts. We currently offer a robust program for teenagers, and hope to encourage more students to develop a deeper connection with the work displayed on stage, and behind the scenes.

The ideal candidate will develop new and on-going relationships with schools and organizations to enrich student and patron experiences at Royal MTC. This will be achieved through successful programs that foster youth education and audience enrichment. This portfolio manages audience enrichment programs – including talk-backs and pre-show lectures – and supports the delivery of audience accessibility initiatives, including relaxed, ASL and open captioned performances.

Post-secondary education in a related field (Education, English, Performing Arts) is considered an asset.

Minimum of two years' demonstrated experience creating and facilitating educational programs for youth.

Working knowledge/experience in the performing arts, ideally theatre.

Strong relationship management, communication skills and presentation ability.

Creative, enthusiastic and self-motivating; ability to work independently.

Technical and administrative skills (i.e. ticketing/database/planning) considered an asset.

Current Child Abuse Registry and Police Information & Vulnerable Sector check.

In addition to this position being a great opportunity for anyone with a passion for theatre and the performing arts, Royal MTC offers a collaborative working environment, a salary of $40,000 - $45,000 depending on qualifications and experience, and a comprehensive benefits package.

Interested candidates are asked to submit a cover letter and resume via by Friday September 24, 2021.

As demonstrated by our Equity, Diversity, Inclusion and Anti-Racism Commitment to Action, Royal MTC is on a deliberate and strategic path to creating an inclusive environment for all employees and becoming an anti-racist organization. We desire to attract a workforce that reflects and shares these values. Recognizing the history of underrepresentation of Indigenous, Black, and people of colour (IBPOC) employees in our company, we will prioritize qualified individuals who self-identify as IBPOC.

We are committed to accommodating applicants with disabilities throughout the hiring process and will work with all applicants requesting accommodation at any stage of our process. If you require additional accommodations, please email

We thank all candidates for their interest; however only candidates selected for further consideration will be contacted.
