Located in Winnipeg the Manitoba Arts Network (MAN) is a non-profit organization that is dedicated to showcasing and advancing arts and culture in all regions of Manitoba. MAN brings professional performing and visual arts to 7 different regions of the province, reaching over 20,000 Manitobans annually.

Scope: The Performing Arts Coordinator, under the direction of the Executive Director, organizes tours of professional performing artists to communities in all regions of Manitoba. Serving 35+ member arts organizations, MAN negotiates, schedules, and books performances in communities around the province. This process allows for efficient dealing with the artist and their representatives and block booking cost savings for members. The Coordinator is responsible for planning and implementing the Performing Arts Program to showcase and advance the arts in Manitoba and for contributing to the organizational development of MAN as a member-based, provincial arts organization.

Responsibilities:

Develop an efficient tour schedule; prepare supporting materials for submissions and jury selection; maintain and recruit of a list of potential jurors; facilitate jury meetings, negotiate the signing of artist contracts; oversee the circulation of information on available performers (such as price lists, performer requirements, etc.); coordinate the performance component of Manitoba Showcase, Artist and Agent registration, conference calls and annual booking meeting.

Qualifications: The skills/knowledge for this position would likely be obtained through completion of post-secondary education at a university level, however experience specific to planning and developing touring programs in performing arts is essential.

  • Strategic thinking/problem solving skills and the ability to anticipate upcoming opportunities and challenges determine required outcomes and use innovative approaches to develop supportive systems and processes.
  • Excellent computer skills are required with MS office

Salary: Starting at $16 per hour, 30 hours per week. Some travel and additional hours may be required as requested by the Executive Director.
