Martha Street Studio: Artist talk with Letch Kinloch, July 20
July 20th, 7-8 pm
Martha Street Studio, 11 Martha St.
free and open to the public!
Letch Kinloch is a Winnipeg-based writer, artist, and arts administrator. She is the founder of Also As Well Too Artist Book Library, a free and accessible space that celebrates, expands ideas around, and gives opportunities to people working with the artist book genre. Kinloch completed Martha Street Studio's Youth Outreach Program in 2009.
This summer, Martha Street Studio is celebrating over 10 years of our Youth Outreach Program (YOP). Since 2006, YOP at Martha Street Studio has been creating community and providing support for young people searching for ways to express themselves creatively.
As part of Martha Street Studio's YOP 10+ Celebration, a weekly lecture series will take place on Thursdays from 7-8pm, from June 29th to August 3rd. The talks will be given by graduates of our Youth Outreach Program and are free and open to the public! Refreshments will be served. Additionally, the gallery will showcase art made by more graduates of the Youth Outreach Program in a constantly changing exhibition, "This Place." The exhibition will run from July 4 to August 10, with a closing reception on August 10. Make sure to drop by more than once, as the exhibition will change weekly.
Speakers of the YOP 10+ lecture series include: Michael Mogatas, Chloe Chafe, Luther Konadu, Alexis Kinloch, Lissie Rappaport, Calvin Joseph, Jean Borbridge, and more TBA.
Martha Street Studio is open 10-5 Tuesday to Friday, and Saturdays 12-5. We are closed the Saturdays of long weekends. Martha Street Studio is located at 11 Martha St. and is an accessible space with an elevator and two washrooms. ASL interpretation may be available at this event and future lectures. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org by 12pm on July 18th if you are interested in attending and require ASL interpretation.
