Wasagaming Community Arts: 150 Faces of Canada, August 18 - September 5

Wasagaming Community Arts formally invites you to the fifth and final exhibition of our 2017 season, featuring works by visitors of Riding Mountain National Park that have been collected throughout the season as part of our "150 Faces of Canada" exhibition in Gallery One. We are also pleased to present works by artists, Weiming Zhao and Kati Nagy, whose exhibition will be on display in Gallery Two. The official opening will take place on Friday, August 18th, 2017 from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM, giving attendees a chance to meet and greet the artists.

Throughout the 2017 season, WCA has been encouraging its visitors to create a self-portrait with the medium of their choice. On August 18th, the gallery will be covered from floor to ceiling with portraits created by many different people from many different walks of life. The project stems from our belief that every person has a story to tell. Each self-portrait featured in the exhibition tells a unique story about the individual who created it. Together, this mosaic of 150 self-portraits gives viewers a snapshot of the diverse population that makes up our proud nation.

Kati Nagy

Kati Nagy works in both watercolour and graphite. Her artwork focuses on the aspect of growth in life that often goes unobserved. Beyond Sight is an exploration of intuition and trust.

The Exhibition will run until September 5th, 2017. The gallery is open 10:00am – 5:30pm daily.
