Manitoba Society of Artists: Open Juried Competition & Exhibition, September 17 - October 14
Warehouse Artworks Gallery
This year the Manitoba Society of Artists will be holding the 85th Annual Open Juried Competition and Exhibition in Winnipeg's Exchange District, at the Warehouse Artworks Gallery, 222 McDermot Ave.
The MSA was established in 1902 originally as an organization to recognize the merits of Manitoba's outstanding artists, to promote and encourage visual artists in Manitoba. Today's purpose remains the same. Members exhibit together, enjoy social events and participate in educational ventures, such as lectures, slide presentations and workshops. The most important event of each year is the Provincial Open Juried Competition and Exhibition, which allows both emerging and professional artists an equal opportunity to participate in a major exhibition.
This year's jurors are Charlie Johnston from Winnipeg and Claire Desjardins from Montreal.
The opening reception will be held:
Sunday, September 17th at 2:00-5:00 pm.
The public are welcome to attend.
We are thankful to funding support from the Manitoba Arts Council. And Gardewine has once again graciously offered to cover the cost of shipping artwork for rural artists.
