University of Manitoba: The President & The Poet – An Evening of Poetry with Micheal O’SiadHail, October 16
Monday, October 16, 7 PM
Marshall McLuhan Hall, UMSU University Centre, University of Manitoba Fort Garry Campus
Please join University of Manitoba President and Vice-Chancellor Dr. David T. Barnard for an evening of poetry reading, dialogue, and book signing with renowned Irish poet Micheal O'Siadhail. O'Siadhail's poetry is richly personal – covering marriage, friendship, joy and grief. While his roots are Irish, O'Siadhail's scope is global.
For twenty years, Micheal's beloved wife, Bríd, suffered from Parkinson's disease. One Crimson Thread, his latest work, is a true testament to their love and chronicles the last two years of her life, her death and his grief.
Books will be available for purchase and signing with Micheal O'Siadhail. Everyone is welcome. Venue is wheelchair accessible, and the event is free to attend.
