About the Show:

The origins of glass are believed to start with the Egyptians who first used it in jewellery. Glass usage evolved over time to be used in church windows starting in the 11th century. To this day, when most people hear the words "stained glass" they think only of windows. But stained glass is more than this as artists experiment with new materials and equipment.

What is fused glass you may ask? Well it is where you melt or bond the glass together by heating it in a kiln. The temperature selected (anywhere from 1100 to 1500 degrees Fahrenheit) depends on the desired result. The artist must also consider the sequencing of the melts to ensure the overall effect is correct.

This show shall present traditional stained glass such as windows as well as fused glass items such as plates and pictures. I look forward to sharing my glass passion with you.

About the Artist:

My road to stained glass started with wanting to make a window for above my front door. This journey has evolved over the last 35 plus years to include not only making traditional glass pieces but also fused glass pieces such as plates, pictures and windows.

Over the years, many of my pieces have found homes abroad in such countries as France, Germany, Brazil, Japan and the United States.
