The Manitoba Society of Artists: Open Juried Competition and Exhibition, March 1 - 29

The Manitoba Society of Artists (MSA) is holding its 86th annual Open Juried Competition and Exhibition this year in Winnipeg at the Warehouse Artworks Gallery, 222 McDermot Ave.. This competition is open to all Manitoba adult artists. Diana Thorneycroft and Keith Wood were the jurors and they selected 77 works of art from 181 submissions.

Awards are presented annually to a number of artists with outstanding work in the show. Below are the awards this year, with the home town of the artist included. Note that 4 artists are from rural Manitoba - Sandy Hook, Kenton, Narol and The Pas, and 6 artists are from Winnipeg. Almost 40% of the works exhibited are from communities outside of Winnipeg.

The show runs March 1-29 . The gallery is open Monday - Friday 9:00 - 5:30 and Saturday 10 - 5. All are welcome to attend and there is no entrance fee. The gallery is wheelchair accessible.
