Spider Web Show, and HowlRound
If you don't know about these two websites, you should.
Interesting, informative, fun, and thought-provoking, for those of us who are theatrically inclined.
Here come the Rory Runnells Studio renovations! As mentioned in the last newsletter, we're doing some upgrades in room 504. Most of our expenses are covered, thanks to a generous Winnipeg Foundation one-time community grant, but a bit of volunteer support would sure come in handy. Details are still settling, but we will need a hand clearing out the room (probably late the week of Aug. 20th or early the following week, just a few hours), and although we'll be hiring a professional to oversee the painting and do all the "pro" stuff, a bit of volunteer support there for a day or two, to do some rolling, would be awesome. That'll be sometime the week of September 3rd.
So, details still a wee bit up in the air, but if you're interested and you might be available, let me know, and I'll keep you posted as dates and times settle ...
MAP office closed August 1st to 19th
I'm cutting out for an extended working vacation. Working in that I'm taking a big stack of scripts with me to get caught up on some reading (you know who you are ... sorry I haven't been able to get to your play earlier, but it's happening now!), vacation in that I'll be reading those plays on my cottage deck, the MAP office will be closed, and I'll only be checking emails occasionally.
I hope you all have a terrific August, and I'll see you on the flip side!
