Organizer: For 27 years, Cinémental has managed one of the oldest French film festivals in Western Canada. It offers Manitobans the opportunity to see the best productions produced in Canada, Europe, Africa and elsewhere.
Objective: Cinémental is organizing the KINO project for the fifth time to encourage Manitobans to venture into the production of a short film regardless of genre: documentary, fiction, animation or experimental. This experience helps to explore Manitoba's film industry. Anyone interested in participating in this KINO activity can register a team of their choice. KINO films will be broadcast publicly at Cinémental's Short Film Competition on Sunday, October 21st. Two prizes will be awarded: a jury and a public prize.
What is KINO Manitoba?
- It is an activity where a team of 2-4 people will have 2 and a half days to make a film in French lasting between 30 seconds and 3 minutes. The genre of film will be their choice: documentary, animation, fiction or experimental.
- It is a place of freedom and exchange, a place where all can create without censorship or constraints other than material ones.
- It's an opportunity for everyone to get motivated and enjoy the ripple effect of group dynamics.
- This is an opportunity to show that we can get great results with very little
Participants must have 48 hours to film and edit their video from Friday, Oct. 12 at 9 pm until Sunday, October 14 at 9 pm
