Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra: Marketing & Communications Coordinator, Application Deadline October 19

The Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra's mission is to provide exceptional musical experiences for Manitobans. The WSO is currently looking for a passionate, energetic and creative individual to join our team as Marketing & Communications Coordinator.

The WSO is actively engaged in new program development, education and outreach, major concert series, and several festivals. Reporting to the VP, Marketing & Communications, the successful candidate's primary goal is coordinating marketing and communications activities to help accomplish the WSO's mission and achieve long-term goals.

Key responsibilities include: write and distribute media releases, coordinate interviews and media events while developing positive relationships with media outlets; communicate with community groups and guest artists/agents; manage and edit Overture, the WSO's in-house program; assist in writing and developing the season guide, strategic marketing plans and timelines; develop, manage and promote content on the WSO's social media channels and website; write and distribute email campaigns and enewsletters.


The successful candidate will have a university degree in marketing or communications or Creative Communications diploma and two to five (2-5) years' experience in a marketing and communications position. They must possess superior written, oral and organizational skills and excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office, social media and email marketing programs. Familiarity with graphic design (Adobe Creative Suite) and new media (audio and video) programs is also considered an asset.
