Position Title: Box Office Administrator

Term: Contract Position: May 5, 2025 – August 1, 2025 (13 weeks – 35 hours/week)

With one of North America’s premier outdoor music festivals as its signature event, the Winnipeg Folk Festival is a year-round, not-for-profit arts organization that presents live music, arts events, and education and outreach programs. The 50th summer festival will be held July 10-13, 2025.

The Winnipeg Folk Festival is seeking a passionate and motivated team player to provide assistance with Festival Box Office duties and provide administrative and logistical support.

Qualifications and Assets:

• Organized, detail-orientated, with demonstrated attention to accuracy

• Ability to work calmly and efficiently under pressure and with a wide variety of colleagues, customers, suppliers, vendors, and volunteers

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 including Excel is required

• Demonstrated project management with the ability to prioritize tasks, deadlines and changing priorities

• Excellent communication and customer service skills

• Ability to work independently and consistently meet deadlines

• Mature, with sound judgment and a positive attitude

• Knowledge of the Winnipeg Folk Festival

Duties:

Reporting to the Manager of Finance & Administration, the Box Office Administrator is responsible for:

• Preparing, tracking and coordinating distribution of all festival access passes including sponsors, stakeholders, artists, and special guests. Tracking and distributing wristbands.

• Coordinating and reporting ticket sales associated with festival access passes

• Supervising Main Gate Box Office area during the Festival event in conjunction with the office coordinators, volunteer leaders, and contracted staff

• Assisting in preparation of training materials for box office processes and organizing volunteer training

• Assisting with coordination of set-up and take-down of the festival Box Office

• Providing exceptional customer service to Festival stakeholders and ticket purchasers and resolving customer service issues as they arise

• Problem-solving as required

During the weeks leading up to and during the Festival, longer hours may be required. During the Festival, the selected candidate will be required to work longer hours in an outdoor environment.
