New York Artist: Claudia Gold AKA Claw Money, to exhibit new work at Graffiti Gallery

Graffiti Gallery is pleased to announce the opening of our new exhibit, Claw Money - Offside, featuring artwork by Claw Money, in partnership with Wall-to-Wall Mural and Culture Festival

Claw Money - Offside will be on display at Graffiti Gallery from September 22, 2022, to December 30, 2022. The opening reception will take place on Thursday, September 22, 2022, from 7:00 – 10:00 pm at Graffiti Gallery, 109 Higgins Avenue. Admission is free with a donation of a non-perishable food item. The artists will be in attendance.

Claw, with her trademark wit, intelligence, and take no prisoners tenacity, has established herself as a rare gatekeeper at the complex intersection of the worlds of art, fashion, beauty, feminism, and media. Having forged her mark in the male dominated world of graffiti, Claw, the woman, and the brand are now synonymous with female empowerment.

Claw has used her passion to create provocative art and a bold clothing brand, all the while vying to remain at the forefront of the art and design worlds and bring them all to global distribution and secure her legacy. Her signature "claw" insignia is recognizable and relevant enough to attract brands that range from Nike to VH1, Calvin Klein to Sunglass Hut, and Pepsi to Bumble and Bumble. Major players continue to seek her out to formulate imagery and campaigns that connect with a progressive millennial audience. Graffiti Gallery is proud to host Claw's international success in Winnipeg.

Claw Money - Offside showcases Claw's branding, with her colorful and bold iconic claw symbol, which has become a fixture of NYC's urban setting. Claw is as an advocate for ardent feminist and an advocate for women's rights. She stands as a mentor to young women and in-turn creates art to empower them. Demonstrating that not only can they do it too, but they can do it on their own terms.

In partnership with Wall-to-Wall Mural & Culture Festival, Claw and Pat Lazo will be facilitating a mural mentorship prior to the opening directly on the Graffiti Gallery walls, taking place September 20 and 21, 12:00-6:00pm. This mural mentorship includes registered youth participants, working collaboratively with spray paint in a collective group setting between 4:00-6:00pm. The mural will be completed and showcased in conjunction with the art opening.

An artist talk with Claw and Chino on Art + Business will be held on September 23rd, 7-9pm at Graffiti Gallery. For more information, please visit Facebook Event for Artist Talk
