MHC Gallery invites you to their Community Gallery for two new exhibitions that offer opportunities for contemplation and reflection during the Christian seasons of Lent and Eastertide. All are welcome to discover these seasons through:

Shaken Alive by Angeline and Anthony Schellenberg, featuring poems and photography in conversation with each other, inspired by Eastertide lectionary passages. Shaken Alive is also a participant of the 2025 Flash Festival.

Carried A Way by Christen Rachul imagines The Stations Of The Cross through the experiential and inclusive process of touching and holding symbolic pottery bowls. Christen has created a unique bowl for each Station of the Cross and the entire exhibition is fully accessible to the visually impaired, featuring braille text panels for each piece.

Both projects were created as part of the artist-in-residence program that runs annually at saint benedict’s table, an Anglican community in Winnipeg. As a community that values active participation in the arts, the residency program is one way to support artists in growing their practice.

Eastertide Liturgies is open March 1-April 26 during regular MHC Gallery hours, Mon-Fri 8:30-4:30 and Saturday 12-5.
