Development

• Steward a comprehensive donor relations program, inclusive of direct communication with donors, issuing tax receipts, and maintaining the donor database.

• Carry out comprehensive fundraising plans, ensure their fulfilment, and meaningfully evaluate them against established goals and targets.

• Maintain and expand the WFF’s donor base by establishing a comprehensive identification, cultivation and solicitation process for various types of donors

• Execute individual giving campaigns, including the coordination of appeals and impact reports

• Lead research on key topics and projects by creating briefing notes and project briefings

• Manage donor listings, including the festival program guide, website, annual report and festival signage

• Work with volunteer crews at the annual summer festival as necessary to implement fundraising plans

• Coordinate select special fundraising initiatives, including the 50/50

• Coordinate planning and execution for donor-related events, in advance of the annual festival and afterwards

• Organize and track the festival’s ticket donations program and provide trade where possible to assist with our fundraising efforts

Grants

• Develop a variety of grant applications for a wide range of funders (including operating and special project requests, for government, private foundations, etc)

• Create regular reports to funders, as required

• Research and identify new grant opportunities

• Maintain a comprehensive ‘grant management’ calendar, inclusive of all relevant due dates and key timelines

Sponsorship

• Working under the Sponsorship & Development Manager, the Coordinator will support efforts at each phase of sponsorship, including prospecting, cultivation, negotiation, activation, and stewardship. This includes but is not limited to drafting agreements, coordinating benefit fulfilment, executing on-site activations during the festival, and developing reports after the festival.

Qualifications & Assets

• A thoughtful and energetic team player who thinks strategically and takes initiative

• A minimum of three years fundraising experience

• Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills with the ability to persuasively present ideas that inspire

• Excellent attention to detail

• Nuance and diplomacy when dealing with sensitive and confidential information

• Demonstrated experience in creating and executing successful fundraising initiatives with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks, deadlines and changing priorities

• Experience with grant writing

• A collaborative approach to building relationships with all stakeholders

• Strong technical skills including Office 365 and database management (experience using a donor database management system preferred)

• Relevant post-secondary education or combination of education and experience

• Experience with festival and/or event production

• Familiarity with the WFF and its values

Starting salary range is $50,000- $59,000. Winnipeg Folk Festival has an excellent benefit plan and flexible team environment.
