Nominations are now open for the 2023 Winnipeg Arts Council Awards!

The Winnipeg Arts Council Awards celebrate the artists, arts administrators, and patrons whose dedication makes Winnipeg a centre for cultural achievement.

The 2023 Awards celebration will be held as part of the Mayor’s Luncheon for the Arts on Thursday June 1st at a new location, the RBC Winnipeg Convention Centre.

This year marks the 16th edition of the Awards.

Nominations for each award are proposed by Winnipeg’s artists and arts organizations based on the criteria for each award. Three awards honour different members of the arts community, including emerging and established artists and arts administrators. In addition, two awards are presented to donors and volunteers who have made significant contributions to the arts in Winnipeg.

Candidates proposed by eligible nominators will be considered by a jury composed of members of the city’s diverse arts and business communities. The jury determines the final shortlist to be announced as the nominees, as well as the winner in each category. Complete requirements for each award can be found below.

The deadline for Nominations is Thursday, May 4, 2023.
