Outreach and Cultural Mediation Assistant

This opportunity is for an Outreach and Cultural Mediation Assistant position, running from May 8th to August 28th, 2024. The main tasks of the employee involve three main categories: cultural mediation and public outreach, communication and media relations, social media and promotion. These tasks will be completed under the supervision of the Executive Director and other members of the team, as well as with Board members. In parallel, the employee will be asked to assist the Director in the organization and coordination of day-to-day activities at La Maison.

The ideal candidate is someone who has sufficient knowledge to work in both official languages and someone who has strong communication skills, both orally and in writing. This person has an open mind and can easily communicate with a variety of people, either gallery audience members, project partners or any other person they might have to collaborate with during their contract. Ideally, they would have studied in the fields of art, arts administration, curation, communication, education, media, publicity or other related fields.

We are looking for someone with a variety of qualities such as strong organization skills, capacity to work and problem-solve independently, strong social skills, punctuality and attention to detail. The candidate must be comfortable using online platforms, social media and new media. The candidate must be proficient with word processing softwares, spreadsheets and email softwares. Knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite is considered an asset.
