The Great Divide by Ashley Segal

Ashley Segal's passion lies in creating abstract works of art that portray the many depths and intricacies of human emotions, her own favorite places and activities. She draw inspiration from the natural world, portraying themes of joy, pain, accomplishment, and peace with every brushstroke.

Her work is heavily influenced by the turbulent waters of the nautical world and breathtaking mountain ranges. She allows her feelings to guide her intuitively with every pour, brush stroke, creating visual texture. Her goal is to awaken emotions and memories inside to escape into a journey of self-discovery.

Take a stroll through the gallery and imagine looking up at the sky with wonder, recognizing familiar destinations, canyons, mountains and other tectonic earth formations. Allow yourself to transcend gravity and physics and let your inner child and imagination explore!

Ashely is a self-taught artist, living and working in Winnipeg, Manitoba. She began painting art at the start of the pandemic while looking for art for her husband's office. Because she was unable to work her regular job as a hair-stylist due to lockdowns, she picked up a brush and canvas and began producing works for his office, realized her skills as an artist, started to grow into her passion as an artist, and met with the gallery owner, Jordan Miller, to book her first solo exhibition.
