WINNIPEG, June 25, 2024 –Winnipeg Fringe Theatre Festival is back, bringing with it a delightful array of independent theatre. From July 17 to 28, the city will be transformed into a vibrant hub of creativity, hosting 150 shows across 25 venues. This festival is a celebration of both old favourites and fresh, innovative works, spanning a wide range of genres from heartfelt dramas to side-splitting comedies. Prepare to be captivated by performances that defy categorization. As part of the festivities, Old Market Square will be transformed into a lively gathering place, featuring beverage pavilions, a variety of food options, local artisans, free entertainment and Kids Fringe activities. Get ready to immerse yourself in the wildness of the Fringe!

Tickets and passes are now on sale and are available at winnipegfringe.com or in person at 174 Market Avenue. Tickets are $10-$14 and $6 in advance for children (12 and under) at the Kids Venue. Programs are available for only $10 at the Royal Manitoba Theatre Centre, McNally Robinson Booksellers and select Manitoba Liquor Marts. A Fringe program provides a full listing of shows, venues and other essential information to help navigate the festival.

It's a Fringe-For-All

  • BUDGET-FRIENDLY FRINGING: Get more for less! We offer $10 tickets at the door for Fringers 25 and under and companies may offer additional door discounts. There are also Pay-What-You-Can door tickets for every KidsVenue performance. All discounts are listed with the show descriptions.
  • ACCESSIBILITY AT THE FRINGE: Fringe hopes to make the festival more accessible with shows suitable for Hard of Hearing/Deaf, English as a second language and low vision/blind patrons. A list of all accessible shows is available on page 81 in the Fringe program and on our website.
  • HIGHLIGHTS OF THIS YEAR’S FESTIVAL
  • “$10 Tix” PERFORMANCES: Participating companies are offering $10 Tix. This special discount is available in advance and at the door and is also highlighted in our program.
  • THE SOUND OF FRINGE: Local bands promise to entertain the crowd at Old Market Square all day including our featured bands every evening. Check out a variety of acts such as Botox Grampa, Big Broadway Singalong presented by the Village Conservatory, Doctor Rocktopus, Kim Reimer Band, Shay Wolf and The Pups, Sundayclub, the Love Letters, The Mariachi Ghost, The remedies, Those Guys and many more.
  • GRAB A BITE: Refuel with local offerings like Cochrane Creek Farm, India Palace Restaurant, KYU Grill, Lemon Heaven, Mini O’s Mini Donuts, Miss Christine’s Kitchen, Nucci’s Gelati, The Churro Stop, The Little Eggplant and The Meltdown
