The Winnipeg Mandolin Orchestra with special guest French Canadian singer/accordionist Anne-Marie Williot

The Winnipeg Mandolin Orchestra, under the direction of Annis Kozub, will perform an eclectic mix of music ranging from the music of our Ukrainian roots to contemporary pieces composed by Piazzolla and Leon Dubinsky.

The Winnipeg Mandolin Orchestra was formed in 1920. It is the oldest mandolin orchestra in Canada, and the second oldest in North America. The Orchestra makes its home in Winnipeg’s historic Ukrainian Labour Temple.

The evening will also feature Anne-Marie Williot, a trilingual multi-instrumentalist and singer-songwriter hailing from rural Quebec, and now based in Winnipeg. A honed poet and performer, she writes and sings in a deliciously melodic blend of old and new sounds, often evocative of candle-lit cafes. In recent years, the accordion has become her main instrument. In 2020, she released her latest album, entitled Cheval Géant.

This is concert people of all ages will enjoy. Wheelchair accessible.
