INTERNATIONAL OPEN CALL
WNDX predominantly programs short films through this open call for submissions.
WNDX will also consider longer films, film performance and moving image installations through this open call for submissions, but due to limited programming slots, these are less likely to be selected in comparison to short films.
• As always, there will be no submission fees
• We will consider works from 2024 and 2025
• Prairie region (Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta) premieres will receive preference
• Results will be announced to filmmakers/artists/distributors no later than August 15, 2025
• Screened filmmakers/artists will be provided an artist fee according to the IMAA rate card
The WNDX Festival of Moving Image programs experimental and innovative forms. We do not program conventional dramas, documentaries, music videos or TV-style work, among other conventional forms.

20 x 25: CALL FOR PRAIRIE ONE TAKE SUPER-8 EVENT FILMS
For our 20th anniversary edition, the WNDX Festival of Moving Image will celebrate the One Take Super-8 Event’s 25th anniversary by holding a special retrospective of One Take Super-8 Event films made by Canadian prairie filmmakers. One Take Super-8 Event founder Alex Rogalski will curate this special program for WNDX and will return to WNDX to project the films.
Filmmakers resident on the prairies (Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Alberta) at the time of film completion are eligible to submit to this special program.
NOTE: Only works still available for screening in the original super-8 format are eligible for consideration.
