CHOIR 101: August 19 & 20

Join Dr. Stuart Sladden for a two-day professional development workshop for singers taking place just in time for choirs to start their choral seasons in September.

CHOIR 101 is designed for beginner to novice choristers with a limited background in music. The basics of sight-singing and theory will be addressed throughout the day, as will the fundamentals of vocal technique. The goal is to equip choristers through participatory learning with skills which can be applied in their weekly choir rehearsals for the 2022-23 season.

Topics to be covered include:

  • Vocal technique fundamentals
  • Basics of music theory
  • Tools for sight-singing and ear training
  • Physical and mental health benefits of group singing

In-person registration: $30

Virtual registration: $20
