Art From the attic

Donations of art are welcome now until September 6 for Art From the Attic, an annual project of Grands ‘n’ More Winnipeg. For the past eight events, Winnipeggers and other Manitobans have donated art that is no longer appreciated in their own homes or offices, or left in their charge, to go to a good home at the one-day sale (on October 5 in 2025). The only criteria are that it be in good condition and designed for hanging on a wall. The group accepts all media, all subject matter even if quirky, and all sizes.

To donate, call 204-583-8633 or email [email protected] and learn about drop-off and pickup options.

The 2024 sale of more than 3000 pieces raised over $40,000 for the Stephen Lewis Foundation’s Grandmothers to Grandmothers Campaign, which supports grandmothers in 14 countries in Africa whose descendants were and are affected by the AIDS pandemic and ongoing challenges with HIV. Grandmothers were left to parent grandchildren, return to the workforce to support them, manage their own mental health in the face of grief and new responsibilities, and fight for human rights and community supports. Funds reach the grandmothers through programs run by the communities where they live, where needs are quickly identified and responses can be nimble, all the while accountable to the Foundation.
