EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

The Executive Director is responsible for providing comprehensive leadership and management to both the Winnipeg Music Festival and the Associated Manitoba Arts Festivals (AMAF).

This role encompasses oversight of annual event preparations for both festivals, resource and service support for AMAF member festivals, and collaboration with respective boards of directors on new initiatives.

The position requires active engagement with local, provincial, and occasionally national music organizations and stakeholders.

The incumbent also offers consultative services and fosters relationships within the community to enhance the visibility and effectiveness of both organizations.

Coordination of Annual Festivals: Key duties include processing entries, developing schedules, coordinating volunteers and adjudicators, securing venues, and arranging meals, transportation, and accommodations for adjudicators (and when applicable, volunteers in Brandon).

Administration and Financial Oversight: The Executive Director supports governance through policy development and implementation, maintains an efficient office environment, ensures compliance with reporting obligations, formulates operational plans, manages financial records in partnership with the treasurer, prepares grant applications, oversees budgeting alongside the finance committee, and assists with fundraising activities to support organizational sustainability.

Qualifications: A relevant degree, such as Business Administration in not-for-profit management or equivalent experience managing a community-based volunteer organization (a Music degree or diploma would be an asset); proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Publisher) and financial software such as SAGE or similar; demonstrated ability to work independently and manage evolving priorities within a dynamic work environment.
