This two-day workshop will provide an introduction to hand processing for B&W 16 mm film using eco-processing approaches and other darkroom experiments.
Participants will be guided through the process of shooting film with a Bolex camera and also exposing film using a cameraless process known as rayograms. A number of processing options in the darkroom will then be used to develop the film.
During this workshop, participants will be provided an introduction on two developing tanks that are staples for professional experimental filmmakers: the Lomo and Morse tanks.
After the workshop, participants will have an understanding of various hand-processing techniques used by professional experimental filmmakers and will be able to begin independently experimenting with different artistic and technical processes.
