Outreach Coordinator (August 10 deadline)
GAP is hiring for the position of Outreach Coordinator. This is a 22-week position at up to 25 hours per week. This position is supported by Cultural Works Canada’s Student Work Placement program. The Outreach Coordinator will work closely with the st.ART Coordinator and 393 Coordinator to support community-based workshops and promote programming. The position would best fit a post-secondary student studying Fine Arts or Education. The role will offer the chosen candidate the chance to develop skills in community art programming.

Rate of pay: $18.00 per hour
Hours: Up to 25 hours per week, schedule to be determined. Afternoon and evening hours required, some weekend shifts will be required to support events
Duration: September 2, 2025 - January 31, 2026
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement outreach strategies to connect to young people in the community
- Support the st.ART Coordinator and Studio 393 Coordinator with project development, and support workshop
instructors with off-site program delivery
- Support organizational strategic priorities of increasing participant visits and community connections
- Maintain and expand a network of partnerships
- Collaborate with schools, community organizations, and local events to plan and facilitate programming that
supports the needs of youth
- Creation of promotional material including social media content and posters
- Maintain supply inventory, purchase supplies as needed, assist with preparing and transporting supplies to
workshops sites
- Data entry
- Other duties as assigned
Skills and Qualifications:
- Meet the requirements for Student Work Placement positions: 30 years of age or younger at the start of
employment; a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been
conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of employment; have a valid
Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance
with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations; be a post-secondary student currently enrolled
either full-time or part-time
- Experience in digital and social media content creation
- Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (photoshop, Premier)
- Experience working with children and youth.
- Demonstrated skills in community engagement and ability to work in an anti-oppressive framework
- Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong organizational skills, reliable and
demonstrated capacity to work as part of a team, the ability to take direction and to self-direct.
- Valid class 5 drivers licence and access to a car is a required.
- Successful candidate will be required to provide a clear criminal record with vulnerable sector check and child
abuse registry check.
