Pillars of Hip Hop, youth programming

Studio 393 provides free art, music and dance workshops for youth, with a focus on Hip Hop. Our After School Leaders program, "The Pillars of Hip Hop" runs on Tuesdays and Thursdays 4PM-7PM, in September and October and is free for highschool students aged 14-21.

Workshops are led by local and travelling artists, well established and experienced in their artistic practice, that explore and honour the foundational pillars of Hip Hop art and culture. Workshops in Breaking and Hip Hop Dance, DJing, Rap and Music, and Graffiti Writing, can be explored for free by youth registered for the program. A meal and bus tickets are also provided for participants at the end of each workshop.

Workshops can be enjoyed at Studio 393, on the first floor of Portage Place Shopping Centre (393 Portage Ave.), near the water fountain.
