Join us at WAG-Qaumajuq on August 23 from 4pm onwards for the second year of SALA Film Festival!

Celebrating Filipinx/a/o media-based art, film, and culture, SALA aims to highlight the diversity and richness of our community through various forms of media. As part of Kultivation Festival 2025, SALA Film Festival focuses on film programming, showcasing a wide range of cinematic works that reflect the multitude of stories and experiences within the Filipinx/a/o community.

SALA is a celebration of all forms of art and storytelling. We aim to highlight the diverse ways our community’s artists express their creativity by showcasing their distinctive voices and perspectives. At SALA, we bring people together, believing in the power of art to kultivate a sense of community and belonging.

The concept of “SALA,” meaning “living room” in Tagalog, is central to our festival. The living room is a place of warmth, comfort, and connection – a space where friends and families gather, and memories are made. We aim to recreate the same homelike atmosphere, evoking a sense of nostalgia and comfort.
