MONICA LOWE is a textile-based artist from Winnipeg. A Fine Arts graduate, Monica focused on her career as a film distributor and arts administrator before igniting her artistic practice, discovering the beauty and possibilities of manipulating fabric. Since 2023 she has focused on fabric portraits.
Monica has begun to show her works in galleries in Canada and the US, and has sold work to collectors. In 2024 she was awarded First Place in the “Facing Forward” portrait show at the Marianne van Silfhout Gallery in Brockville, Ontario for her self-portrait, Hidden.
